What is "Local Hack Day" ?

Local Hack  Day is basically a series of week-long challenges. Each day you'll receive new sets of challenges to complete. The more challenges you conquer, yhe more points you'll earn. There are many challenges , out of which you can accept any of the challenge according to your field of interest.

It is organised by Major Leaque Hacking (MLH) , which is global hacker community. 

Can a beginner participate in this ?

Well, a big Yes , this event is for everyone . Being a beginner doesn't matter at all. Selection of challenges are purely your cup of tea , so you don't need to worry about anything. Just go for the challenges you are comfortable with, search for the one which is easy to start, then , you can also continue with the other little difficult challenges with help of your guild members or can simply search on google , learn the concept and then can try to solve the challenges. In this way it will be helpful for the beginners to learn new concept and apply it practically.

Even-if you can't code, you can use Local Hack Day as an opportunity to learn some coding skills and network with other beginners.

  

 What is Guild ? How we can earn points with our guild?

Guilds are more or the less like a team. Your guild or so called team participate together. Earn points for yourself  and your guild by completing our challenges throughout Local Hack Day: Build. The more members you have in your guild, the more points you'll get and the more faster you climb-up on leaderboard.

Points are rewarded based on your participation and completion of challenges throughout the week of Local Hack Day:Build . These range from daily challenges to week-long challenges which can be as simple as posting on your social media or as advanced as completing a workshop and building a hack.
